‘Up From The Mud’ From Diane Coll Addresses Relational Trauma And Includes Ambient Bonus Tracks

Atlanta-based singer/songwriter Diane Coll will release her fourth solo album, Up From The Mud, on January, 7, 2025. The very personal collection of songs is “intended to give hope to anyone who has experienced relational trauma.” The first single, “Sugar,” is out now, “an examination of taking power back and shifting expectations.”

The 14 songs on Up From The Mud provide a journey for audiences, beginning with the title track and “guiding listeners through the muck and mire, leading them through to hope on the final track.” Throughout, Coll draws on her experience as a mental health counselor.

Coll worked once again with co-Producer and Grammy-nominated musician Daniel Groover on the album. Jonny Daly also returned to play guitar. Other contributing musicians include Barry Watson on bass, and Daniel and Erica Holloway on cello. Up From The Mud also includes five bonus tracks of ambient music co-Produced with Daly.

Originally from Chicago, Coll found her way to Georgia in the early ’90s in search of the thriving music scenes in Athens and Atlanta. Coll currently lives in the Atlanta area and works as a mental health therapist.

She comments:

Music has always been my therapy and, as a lifelong music lover, I truly honor the sacred connection between the musician and listener. It’s a beautiful dance where change is inevitable.
