Bikini Beach’s “Liar Liar” Wonders If The Whole World Is Lying

Bikini Beach have released new single “Liar Liar”, channeling Garage Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Surf and Pop. It hails from their new album Cursed which arrives on February 7th, 2025, and carries a darker sound as they grapple with global crises.

The band says:

As you can imagine, the song is about lying. Sometimes you get the feeling that the whole world around you is lying. Especially when it’s so obviously lying. If you’re going to be lied to, then you should at least make an effort to ensure that it’s a logical lie and not complete nonsense that you can see through straight away.

The band add about their sound:

The love of simple, direct and raw rock music can’t be killed off. There are so many emotions behind it, so much energy that you can let out directly. Not just as an audience member at a concert, but also directly on the instrument.

The band, consisting of Nils Hagstrom, Charlotte Love, and Manuel “Flip” Oetlli, hails from Lake Constance and nearby Switzerland. The title of their new album “reflects the chaos of recent years, from the pandemic to war in Europe.” Their sound is darker in 2025, with lyrics “addressing personal struggles and global crises.”

The album was mostly self-produced, with final touches by Flip and a mix by Ärzte bassist Rodrigo “Rod” González. The artwork, inspired by scientist Maria Sibylla Merian, was designed by bassist Lotti.
