Irish singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow has returned with new single “Glu,” which is a “reflection on love, connection, and the complexities that come with it.” It was co-written with Ilsey Juber, and follows McMorrow’s recent seventh studio album,Wide open, horses.
McMorrow says:
I wrote this with Ilsey Juber the first day I met her. It was born out of a conversation about love—when you find that person, you bind yourself to them, but so much of that is both beautiful and hard. It’s about understanding the intensity of it all, making it work not just on the good days but the bad ones. I took the song home, recorded it in a two-hour burst, and just followed the energy. I’m really proud of it.
Alongside the release of “Glu,” McMorrow is embarking on an East Coast North American tour this Fall, with stops in New York, D.C., Nashville, Toronto, and Montreal. The tour will feature a selection of songs from his most recent album, Wide open, horses.
