Synth Punk Band Grey Factor’s Live Recordings From 1979-1980 Arrive In November

Tiny Global Productions will be releasing Synth Punk band Grey Factor’s A Peak In The Signal: Live 1979-1980 on November 8, 2024 on 12″ LP vinyl, digital download, and streaming services. A Peak In The Signal: Live 1979-1980 contains six raw performances that illustrate the very start of the synthesizer revolution.

Grey Factor only played around twenty live shows, but without realizing it then, each show made an impact. The group’s performances in L.A. clubs like The Hong Kong Café and Madame Wong’s fostered generations of electronic music that blossomed in the ’80s and 90’s, and still continues today.

Grey Factor released their archival collection 1979-1980 A.D. – Complete Studio Recordings in January 2023, forty-three years after the tracks were originally recorded. The LP quickly sold out its three pressings.

In 2024, the album was listed in Paste Magazine’s “50 Greatest Synth Pop Albums Of All Time”, alongside Suicide, Kraftwerk, The Human League, Ultravox, OMD and others. Since the release of the studio album, a series of live recordings has been unearthed, each dating from Grey Factor’s original 1970’s run.
