Ron Dante of The Archies has had a 60-year career as a singer, songwriter, and multimillion-selling Producer. Now, there’s going to be a limited-edition vinyl release for his 2020 career retrospective double album, Ron Dante’s Funhouse.
Dante says:
So many people are now buying vinyl as collector pieces, and I wanted to put out something that my fans would keep in their collections. I just completed a summer tour with The Turtles and so many fans asked me about it.
You’ll hear Dante on The Archies’ “Sugar Sugar” which hit #1 in the US and UK, staying at top spot for four and eight weeks, respectively. He’s also someone who was cutting national jingles for the likes of Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, and American Airlines, and was the voice of the long-running fictional Archies Rock band that featured in comics, on an animated TV series, and on a string of records.

Released by Sunset Blvd Records, Ron Dante’s Funhouse (Limited Edition/Bubble Gum Pink vinyl) includes two Top 10 hits and seventeen previously unavailable Archies recordings. These tracks were originally recorded and mixed to be listened to on vinyl, so this re-release brings them back to their natural medium.
Dante says:
It encompasses my entire career, back to my early jingle days. And back to some of my earlier groups that people weren’t aware that I fronted, like The Chan Clan and the Webspinners.
