Multi-award winning Americana/Alt-Country artist Kyle McKearney has revealed new single “Wedding Day” as he moves towards a new album. The track is a “reflection of love and longing” with a tension between love lost and an uncertain future.
On “Wedding Day,” McKearney teams up once again with writers Lydia Sutherland and Aaron Pollock to create an emotive story. The Métis artist also collaborates with longtime bandmate and co-Producer Russell Broom (Paul McCartney, Lindsay Ell, Jann Arden) and 6-time Grammy Award-winning mixing engineer Vance Powell (Chris Stapleton, Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson), for the music on the track.
McKearney reflects:
This might be my favourite track from the new record. It’s about sitting idle, watching someone else live your best life. The beat, the fiddle hook and the story are everything I strive for in a track. It’s gut wrenching with a glimpse of hope, kinda like life.
The single is from McKearney’s upcoming third studio album, which has been co-produced by McKearney and Broom. His recent release “Broken Hearts Hide” introduced the project.
