14-time Grammy winner Dan Tyminski has spent numerous years as a guitarist and vocalist with Alison Krauss & Union Station and as a solo artist, which has included a significant amount of live performance over time. Now, the lead track from his upcoming live concert album, Dan Tyminski: Live From The Ryman, is out, previewing how his setlists come together. The track is called “This Sad Song.”
Tyminski says of that performance:
We started a show with a song that I did with Alison Krauss & Union Station a while ago, ‘This Sad Song,’ I get a nervous energy when we start a show. ‘This Sad Song’ has a type of energy and power that, whether I’m nervous or not, I can sing it hard. I can sing it loud. So, for me, it’s the perfect opening song.
The song originally hails from 2004’s Lonely Runs Both Ways.
Dan Tyminski: Live From The Ryman arrives on August 16th, 2024 via 8 Track Entertainment and ADA/Warner Music Group. Tyminski’s tour continues in August with Canadian appearances in New Brunswick and Quebec before heading back to the States for late summer festival appearances.
