Indie-Electronic duo Strange Hotels explore genres with a DIY approach and will be releasing their debut full-length album Hideout in the District via Color Red on July 26, 2024. The single and video for “Lean Back” is out now.

Composed of cousins and longtime musical partners Ben Braden and Nick Sadler, Strange Hotels emerged out of Portland touring band The Lower 48, after Ben and Nick had shifted to solo endeavors. After linking up to collaborate on tracks with one another, they realized that their best tracks were those they worked on as a unit and thus, Strange Hotels was born in 2018.

Within weeks of their formation, they newly formed duo had the opportunity to open for Billie Eilish at The Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon jumpstarting a trajectory that would land them sync placements on Showtime’s Shameless, Vice’s King of the Road, and Conan O’Brien’s Needs a Friend.

They use vocal processors, MIDI controllers, and multi-instrumental stations, with each member of the duo helming multiple devices simultaneously to create the complexity of a full band.
