Post Rock band Glassfield was founded in 2014 as a musical experiment and has only evolved since then. Now they have released their new album, Leave a Light On. Previous releases include The Unwrought Atlas EP in 2016, followed by a split 7-inch release in 2017.
Leave a Light On explores themes of “loss, anger, paranoia, and ultimately, hope.” Each of the songs on the album offers a unique perspective. Particularly modern elements include addressing the “aftermath of betrayal” and “the surreal landscape of social media.”
Recorded at Electrical Audio in Chicago, Illinois, by Taylor Hales, and mixed by Joshua St. Moblo, the album was mastered by Parachute Mastering.
The track and video for “All Children See Monsters” are out now.
The band shares about the single:
The song All Children See Monsters was written as a Halloween themed kind of song we would want for a horror film or soundtrack. Based on the children’s game ghost in the graveyard or hide and seek loosely visually. The idea is also that the song represents the reality of that monsters are really just people who become the creatures they feared in the dark. The video was created by a creator named voidstomper whose ai inspired art we found on YouTube and collaborated with during the mixing process of the record. We liked what he came up with and the video showcases that.
