Our Last Creation are a Heavy/Prog Metal band from São Paulo, Brazil who have recently released new single and video for, “Su1c1d3 in Slow Motion”.

The new song expands the band’s sonic identity, bringing with it a denser sound, with even more technical string sections and drums, lead by newcomer and bassist Eduardo Milani. It’s also an unusual song in that it’s over six minutes long and features melodic solos tied to orchestral themes to guide the listener.

Guitarist Vitor Acácio says:

The premise here was to go beyond our capabilities and get out of our comfort zone. In our compositions, the challenge is to cross at least one boundary, be it technical or emotional. And here we are, happy to present a band which is more aggressive and tighter-sounding, yet still sounding palatable.

The song’s lyrics “question the way we relate to ourselves, highlighting the hopelessness that looms over our days, while emphasizing the contrast between vice and virtue, good and evil, musical weight and lightness.”

Mike Ernst, singer and lyric writer for the band says:

It’s with words that we build our reality, and Su1c1d3 is a letter that serves as a reminder that this is life, nothing but ups and downs and, as much as we wish to believe it, it wasn’t made for us to be happy. We’re here to try and control our extremes, control what controls us.

“Su1c1d3 In Slow Motion” was produced by the band and Samuel Bassani, edited by Ale Magno (OLC and Pense) and Chris Wiesen (Treva), arranged by Mike Ernst and Fernando Gherini.

The song’s video was directed by Mazze Filmes, owned by Bia Mazarak and Livia Fanuchi (both bandmates at Bruxax), and features the influencers Rafael Tonello (@R_Tonello) and Gabriela Marques (@Gab.Marx) representing “the extremes of life as the entities of vice and virtue.”
