Emily Hicks Draws On Western Landscapes And Stories From Life For Debut Album ‘Weird Wild Wonderful’

Weird Wild Wonderful is the forthcoming debut album from Emily Hicks, a Folk-Pop singer/songwriter based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. Drawing inspiration from the landscape of the western United States, Weird Wild Wonderful evokes “the sights, sounds, and emotions of the great outdoors with a hint of nostalgia.”

For the album, Hicks shares “stories of unconditional love, letting go of the past, and navigating the growing pains of young adulthood.” The album’s title track is out now, alongside a video.

Produced by Nick Bullock at The Dog House Studio and Freda Recording in Nashville, TN, Weird Wild Wonderful also features the work of assistant engineer Connor Theriot and musicians JP Ruggieri, Dom Billet, Clark Singleton, Kristin Weber, and Leif Shires.

Born and raised in a small midwestern town, Emily Hicks first discovered her love of music as a classical pianist and music educator before transitioning into a career as a singer/songwriter. In 2021, Hicks released three singles produced by Grammy-nominated songwriter, Monty Powell.

Emily Hicks continues to hone her craft as a songwriter and performs frequently at venues around Utah. Her debut album Weird Wild Wonderful  will arrive in the Fall of 2024.
