Nashville-based band Brother Elsey has shared their new single “Bolt Cutter Eyes” via River House Artists. Produced by Drew Long (KALEO, Judah & The Lion), the new song is “an evocative story about finding freedom out on the road” and is dedicated to the band’s Appalachian roots.

Brother Elsey has also just announced their headlining Fall tour, which kicks off on October 18 in Cincinnati with stops in New York, Boston, Washington, D.C. and more cities before wrapping up with a hometown show on November 16 in Detroit.

Vocalist and guitarist Brady Stablein shares:

‘Bolt Cutter Eyes’ is a song about running away from a dead end. It’s a narrative about two kids running from their circumstances and breaking free from the fences of their youth. It follows the interesting history of Route 23 in Appalachian America and the pockets of romance that it holds. Our roots are from there … just like a lot of families from the Midwest, our folks worked the mines and it molded the lifestyle we were raised on. There isn’t much there since they shut down, people worked in the automotive and steel plants just north of Kentucky till many of them shut down as well. That’s where this story lives. This is our little ‘Born to Run’ from the holler. The song is about the road being a savior and we’re hitting the road in that spirit, like a jar full of lightning.

Comprised of siblings Brady Stablein (vocals and guitar), Beau Stablein (bass), and Jack Stablein (lead guitar), plus honorary kin Dalton Thomas (drums), Brother Elsey build their music around songcraft and their Midwestern heritage.
