Pep Rally’s “Clubbing On The Moon (Staring At The Sun)” Catches The Post-Party Sunrise

Pop Rock project Pep Rally have released their newest summery single, “Clubbing On The Moon (Staring At The Sun)”. The duo is made up of Producer, engineer, and co-founder of MilkBoy the StudioTommy Joyner, and percussionist Emily Roane.

The song is an encouragement to keep the good times rolling.

Tommy Joyner comments:

“Clubbing On The Moon (Staring At The Sun)” is the story of various scenes I’ve witnessed in the clubs and bars in Philadelphia, getting shut in, partying all night and walking outside to realize that the sun has come up, it’s daylight, and everything looks different than you thought. The world can appear so skewed at night, under the influence, and it can feel scary but there can be a feeling of acceptance and peace by giving in and trusting that ‘it’s alright.’

I wrote the song and showed it to my friends Matt Vantine (The Fleeting Ends, Unison) and Billy Joe Marrerro (Epoch Failure) who contributed lines. When Emily came in it was fun to switch the perspective to a ‘partner-in-crime’ style duet, which we think is exactly what Pep Rally is IRL(!), and she added some lines to make it her story too.

“Clubbing On The Moon (Staring At The Sun)” is the first in a series of singles to be released this year. Pep Rally will play select dates in support of their new music.

Tommy Joyner will play a solo show on June 22nd at Sounds for Peace hosted by MilkBoy on South Street.
