West Coast native Brandon Kerrigan is releasing new album Psychedelic Pop album Sit Outside, via project name Care Again on July 12, 2024. The album was Produced by Dylan Magierek (STRFKR, My Morning Jacket) in the Badman Records studio in Southeast Portland, Oregon.

Kerrigan and Producer Magierek began by polishing 12 bedroom-Psychedelic Pop demos that have been in Care Again’s live set rotation for multiple years before.

Kerrigan says about writing and Production:

Most of the songs were written using an upright piano at City College of San Francisco, I’d go into the practice room in the music wing, and although it wasn’t the most pristine recording environment it had this warm reverb-drowned tone, we ended up keeping alot of those main piano parts I recorded there in the final record.

Samples were also a big part of this record. I am very influenced by 2000s experimental pop such as Animal Collective and Panda Bear and I wear those influences on my sleeve on this record.

He adds about the album:

The album is about connecting with your most authentic self. Finding the balance between doing what makes you happy and what will move you forward and finding love in it all along the way.
