Canadian duo The Goddamsels, made up of Mallory Chipman and Freddi MacDougall, continue the lead-up to their debut full-length album with their latest single, “Same Damn Thing,” a track that adds some Pop to their Country/Folk sound.

The song’s message is one of “seeing oneself stuck in the monotony of the everyday grind, yet still having a hard time breaking out of the self-destructive cycle.” It does, however, arrive “at a place of acceptance and resilience.”

In 2023, The Goddamsels released six-song EP Wayward Daughter. Like its predecessor, “Same Damn Thing” was recorded at Edmonton’s Riverdale Records with The Goddamsels’ trusted, Juno Award-nominated producer Scott Franchuk (Corb Lund, Del Barber, Mike Plume, Scenic Route To Alaska), and features Kyle Shabada on acoustic guitar, Brett Hansen on electric guitars, Murray Wood on bass, Shea Connor on drums, and Ryan Funk on pedal steel.

After recording and releasing Wayward Daughter, The Goddamsels embarked on several tours of different parts of Canada, along with appearing at Folk Alliance 2023 in Kansas City.
