New York-based artist Ella Galvin has announced her debut EP, The Way It Goes, out June 14th, 2024 and and has released the EP’s title track and accompanying music video. The song explores the fine line between leaving a relationship behind and holding onto it.
Galvin says:
The Way It Goes’ is a song about going back and forth between wanting to see your ex and not wanting to reopen those wounds again and risk being disappointed.
The single arrives alongside Ella’s first official music video. Filmed in New York City and directed by Cel Sane, the video introduces Galvin’s love of fashion and her queer identity.
Taking influence from Pop, Soul, Jazz and Rock, the EP shows Galvin’s experimentation and innovation. The EP’s storytelling explores themes of “love, loss, and self-identity.”
Ella Galvin got her start performing in a variety of fusion bands in Boston and New York before branching out with her own solo project in 2022. She’s spent the last few years developing her sound and fine-tuning her live show with performances around New York City.
