NPR Music and West Virginia Public Broadcasting’s live performance radio show Mountain Stage have released their new compilation Live On Mountain Stage: Outlaws and Outliers via Oh Boy Records. The album features a collection of live performances from various artists captured during Mountain Stage tapings over the past four decades, including Margo Price, John Prine, Birds of Chicago featuring Allison Russell, Sierra Ferrell, Jason Isbell, and Molly Tuttle, among many others.
Recently, Mountain Stage also shared a recording of Tyler Childers performing “Going Home,” a previously unreleased song that is exclusively available on the compilation, captured during Childers’ appearance on the show in 2015.
Previously released tracks include Wilco performing a cover of “Space Oddity” from their appearance on the show in 2016. It was followed by the release of the Indigo Girls performing their hit “Closer To Fine” from their appearance on the show in 2002.
Mountain Stage also shared a recording of Rhiannon Giddens performing “Black is the Color” from her 2015 album Tomorrow Is My Turn and captured during her appearance on the show in 2015 at the Augusta Heritage Center in Elkins, WV.
