Swedish-Greek Folk artist Plàsi has shared his new single, “Avignon.” The hails from his forthcoming EP Salamina out July 26th, 2024 via Nettwerk. The single is accompanied by a video, filmed in Super 8 and directed by Olof Grind.

“Avignon” departs from Plàsi’s usual style, collaborating with Björn Yttling (Lykke Li, Peter Björn & John, First Aid Kit) to create a musical fusion of influences. The track was born during recording sessions. Inspired by a road trip from Sweden to France along the French south coast, “Avignon” takes listeners on a journey which is reflected in both the music and the video.

Plàsi shares this about “Avignon”:

It’s the most experimental song on the EP. It has a sound that I didn’t expect we would reach before entering the studio, but it really made me take a step into exciting territory together with Yttling.

“Avignon” follows two previous 2024 singles, “Innocent” and “All of Me,” Plàsi will be embarking on a European tour called SALAMINA in May.
