A Folk Rock Pioneer Is Honored In Documentary ‘Lost Angel: The Genius Of Judee Sill’

New documentary Lost Angel: The Genius of Judee Sill will arrive in theaters and on Amazon and Apple TV on April 12, 2024. The film was directed by Andy Brown and Brian Lindstrom, Produced by Peter Kenney (Joes’ Violinand Brian Lindstrom, and Executive Produced by actor/musician Maya Hawke, author Cheryl Strayed, Peter Kenney and Dan Braun.

The documentary reveals the never-before-told story of Folk-Rock artist Judee Sill, who in just two years went from living in a car to appearing on the cover of Rolling Stone.

The documentary charts her troubled adolescence through her meteoric rise in the music world and early tragic death.

Appearing in the film are Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Fleet Foxes, David Geffen, JD Souther, Big Thief, Weyes Blood, Tim Page and more.

The film will be released theatrically in New York (IFC Center), Los Angeles (Laemmle Noho), Portland (Cinema 21), Santa Fe (Center For Contemporary Arts), San Francisco (4 Star), Callicoon, NY (Callicoon Theater), and key cities on April 12 with a VOD release on all major platforms in the US and Canada. Additional dates include Nashville on April 22 (Belcourt Theater).
