Grammy-nominated Nashville-based artist Aaron Lee Tasjan has released new single “Dylan Shades,” the third single from his forthcoming album Stellar Evolution which arrives on April 12th, 2024 via Blue Élan. Ahead of the release, there are pre-orders for special colored vinyl (Coke Bottle Clear, Opaque Yellow), custom sweatpants, t-shirts, bucket hats, and more. “Dylan Shades,” is a power ballad with very 80s vibes that explores the fear of losing a longtime partner.
On the track, Tasjan says:
I found myself having to admit how deeply in love I am, and then, how scared to lose that I can feel at times. tried to imagine accepting the loss with a softness and nobility.
Stellar Evolution was Produced by Gregory Lattimer, and heads in innovative musical directions. Tasjan also recently announced his upcoming 2024 headline tour, including dates in New York City, Nashville and Los Angeles.
On the album, Tasjan shares personal reflections, “in part inspired by the dark times the queer community has experienced in the South.” It was written in the context of bathroom and drag bans, which were enacted in Tennessee and was created to express his own experiences but also “offer a safe space for the vibrant queer community.”
He adds:
The record became a sort of rallying cry for being who you are in a time when people literally wanna try to make it illegal to do that. I felt like it was really important to let people know that they’re not alone, that we’re all in this fight together and that we see each other, and that we’re gonna do what this community always does, which is come together and have each other’s backs.
