Swedish Metal band Wormwood have unveiled the details of their fourth album, The Star. This album marks the final chapter of their three part, Trilogy of Death, which started with award-nominated Nattarvet, and was continued with chart-topping Archive.
The Star takes the listeners on “a profound journey through a dying universe, and acts as the last breath in a cosmos we perhaps didn’t deserve.” It arrives in March 31, 2024 and will arrive in multiple formats, including vinyl.
In conjunction with the album release, cinematic music videos for the tracks “Starfall” and “Ro” will be released, providing a visual counterpart for the journey. The vinyl edition of the album will be presented as a double LP with a gatefold sleeve.
Metal producer Sverker Widgren from Wing Studios in Stockholm brought his expertise to the mixing and mastering. The trilogy also covers historical and existential themes, like Nattarvet’s exploration of the 19th century famine in the Nordic countries and Arkivet’s exploration of the “downfall of humanity.” The Star, in turn, will explore the end of the universe.

Nine share about the new album:
THE STAR‘ is the last gasp of a universe we didn’t deserve. With this album, we invite our fans to join us on a cosmic odyssey, exploring the depths of despair and the peace that follows. It’s the conclusion of a trilogy, a story we’ve been eager to share.
