Singer/songwriter Claudia Gibson will be releasing Within The Fields of Chazy on March 1, 2024. Working with Producers Walt Wilkins and Ron Flynt, Gibson builds an acoustic-based “musical landscape” replete with storytelling from the past the the future.
The title song on the album is actually the true story of Claudia Gibson’s paternal grandfather, Joseph Thibodeau, an upstate NY farmer in a small ex-Quebecois community. Joe’s love and loss in the early 20th century becomes a poignant reality to Claudia when, many decades later, she encounters the apple trees he planted as a heartbroken young widower.
Other songs on the album also tell personal stories, like “Promised Land” in which Claudia’s maternal grandmother Bessie is the primary figure, portraying the experience of Eastern European 20th century immigrants through the eyes of a young teenager.

Gibson also pays tribute to her Celtic background with the Scottish traditional song, “The Night Visiting Song”, featuring Irish tenor Pat Byrne on duet vocals.
All in all, The Fields of Chazy encompasses traditional Folk, Fock, Celtic music, and contemporary Folk through building on acoustic guitar roots.
