New York-based Rock-influenced duo Tucker Woods will be releasing their second album, Sunshine Blues on March 15, 2024. The studio they started to record in had a fire, rendering it unusable, and the circumstances forced everyone involved to get creative about solutions.

That feeling of “going with the flow” became part of the album, and also on their latest single “Are You Glass?”

Guitarist and songwriter Chris Hurd says:

Brian is always saying this song could be in a Quentin Tarantino movie and I have to agree. Even beyond the meaning or the lyrical content; it drives hard and puts out such a cool vibe. The guitar work was also particularly fun on this song. I love all the panning guitar licks in the verses, the bigsby, the breakdown. It’s got a real 60’s vibe with a modern take.

Tucker Woods is made up of Hurd and Brian Motel on both bass and keys. Originally recorded at Tone House Studio, as its predecessor was, the new album’s unexpected situation brought on by the fire required everyone to improvise. Personnel and gear were safe, but they needed to finish the album elsewhere.

They found a unique solution. Engineer and co-Producer Warren Trunz saved the day by suggesting that they record the album at his grandmother’s house.
