Fazi are a Post-Punk band based in the Chinese city of Xi’an. With five full-length records and commercial TV experience, the four-piece are pioneering alternative music in China. Now there will be a wider re-release of their latest offering, Folding Story.
Folding Story reflects “a cyclic experience of rebirth, renewal and a return to origin.” Album opener “Invisible Water” is described by frontman Peng Liu’s as an “artistic conception of amniotic fluid in the mother’s body”.
Peng, alongside guitarist Cheng Ma, bassist Jiaxuan Li and drummer Boyang Li decamped to the Northeast Chinese port city of Dalian, famous for its coastline and seafood, to be close to their watery source of inspiration while recording and to reflect on the journey that led them there.

First released in 2022 on pioneering Chinese record label Space Circle, Folding Story will be rereleased via Pelagic Records.
