XII Thorns Crafts An Eerie Narrative In Old Dutch With “De Kelderbode”

XII Thorns is a 4 piece Blackened Deathcore band hailing from The Netherlands. With over 20 years of experience in heavy music, XII Thorns is constantly exploring new terrain when it comes to song writing and theatrical shows.

The band’s strong DIY mentality affects everything they release, including music, artwork and videos, which are self-produced. They have recently released the single and video “De Kelderbode” via Slam Worldwide.

The band shares:

“De Kelderbode,” our latest deathcore track, draws inspiration from a church newspaper that underwent a chilling transformation in our creative narrative. Originally a self-made publication for the church community, the song explores a sinister reinterpretation of the once-pious “Kelderbode.”

Thus, the story surrounding a “devilish church society” emerged, which is recounted in the single. We even hear a Satanic prayer in Old Dutch on the track: “moge de vlammen van hel, en de schaduwen der nacht, mij begeleiden op mijn pad, als een duister slacht”.

This translates to “May the flames of hell, and the shades of night, guide me on my way like a dark sacrifice”. This track guides listeners into an eerie narrative for sure.
