Carnation Celebrate A Rebirth With ‘Cursed Mortality’

Belgian Death Metal band Carnation has appeared on the scene again with a rebirth of sorts and their new album Cursed Mortality out today. They draw on more than 20 years of experience in Metal, and in life, for this new offering.

Their sound for the new album is about experimenting and “abandoning any and all conventions as they traverse into daring new territory.” The album’s title track, out now, is a nearly eight-minute epic reflection on growing old.

Their all-too-real life experiences impacted this album, since the band are all familiar with the relentless pace of modern life. Vocalist Simon Duson feels that he had the “life sucked out of him by his last job.”

Duson shares his joy over the new album:

Finally, after two years of hard work and unwavering commitment, the release date for our third album ‘Cursed Mortality’ has arrived. We’ve been anticipating this moment for many months, and we can’t emphasize enough how excited we are to release this album. We hope we were able to strike a balance between our strong death metal foundation and the new progressive elements that we’ve added as a result of our evolution as artists.

This record has been a labor of love for us, and we are genuinely curious about its reception. Most importantly, we would like to thank all the fans, press contacts, promoters, Season of Mist, District 19, and everyone else that we had the pleasure of working with to create this album. Cheers!
