The band Heilung consider their performance events to be rituals which begin with Kai Uwe Faust leading Christopher Juul, Maria Franz and their ritual collective in an ancient prayer. The audience is then immersed in incense and throat singing and a mesmerizing light show featuring “an army of warriors and bursts of fire”.

Heilung have recently released new footage from their performance at London’s Apollo Theatre. The video features the Nordic collective’s song “Anoana” and is a peek at their two full live concert DVDs, which will arrive next year.

Heilung says:

Every tour has a beginning and an end. We’ve captured both moments. After the long pause from the world’s stages we kicked off our Amplified History Tour with the first ritual at the sold out Red Rocks Amphitheater, Denver CO, in October 2021. In January 2023 and 45 rituals later, we performed at the Apollo in London. These two rituals are the continuation of our original first performance from 2017, named LIFA, and will be released separately as “LIFA Iotungard” and “LIFA Llyn Dain “. The two releases will witness not only how far we’ve grown since 2017, but also exactly how far the ritual has evolved during the 15 months of touring.

Heilung are currently touring North America. They’ve already performed in Greensboro, Baltimore and Clearwater and the tour was scheduled to wrap up in Denver, but Heilung have now added another show. They’ll play the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California, on December 11, 2023. One dollar for each ticket sold will support a tree planting initiative.
