G. Love & Special Sauce Celebrate The 30th Anniversary Of Their Debut Album With Reissue & National Tour

In 1994, G. Love & Special Sauce emerged out of Philadelphia and cultivated “Hip-Hop Blues” known for its unique combination of Delta Blues, Hip-Hop, Rock & Roll Soul and Funk. The trio’s self-titled debut album quickly went Gold and led to collaborations with the likes of Lucinda Williams, Dave Matthews, The Avett Brothers, Keb ‘Mo’, and many more. The band will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of their self-titled album with an expansive national tour and re-release of the record, with more details to follow.

Born Garrett Dutton in Philadelphia, PA, G. Love grew up equally enthralled with Folk, Blues, and Rap. After migrating to Boston, he and his band, Special Sauce, broke out in 1994 with their Gold-selling self-titled debut. G. Love would go on to release seven more studio studios albums with Special Sauce (plus four solo albums on his own).

Last month, G. Love released Live in Boston, a live duo album with Donovan Frankereiter featuring cuts from their 2022 co-billed tour taken at Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA. G. Love and Special Sauce’s most recent studio effort Philadelphia, Mississippi found the group making a deeply reverent sonic pilgrimage to the heart of the South.
