Morat Collaborates With James TW On Their First Bilingual Song “Someone I Used To Know”

Colombian Roots-Pop band Morat have released the bilingual song “Someone I Used To Know,” a confessional collaboration with British songwriter James TW. The accompanying video is set in London and illustrates the band’s budding friendship with James TW.

The 16-city tour will kick off on Wednesday, January 24th at Rosemont Theater in Rosemont, IL, making stops across the U.S. in New York, Miami, San Antonio, and more before wrapping up in Los Angeles, CA at YouTube Theater on Sunday, February 25th.

Someone I Used To Know” follows the recent release of “Nunca Volvieron” and “Feo”.

The band has always has had conflicting feelings about wanting to sing songs in English but also being proud Spanish speakers. Crossing paths with James TW when he went to one of the band´s shows in Madrid, and the next day they wrote a song together in English.

Morat shares:

It was not only a beautiful musical moment, but it was also a moment of friendship. That’s why the video is more than the story of the song, it’s the story around a song; our story with James, getting to know and walking around his city, having a good time, drinking beer. In the end, there is more to our first song in English than just the song: a friend.

James TW adds:

I love that the song is the perfect combination of our music together. The two influences blend so well from melody & lyric to the production! It was a dream to collaborate with the guys and I can’t wait for everyone to hear the song. I really enjoyed the day we recorded the video in London showing the city to the guys while we were taping the video.
