Northern California’s Punk and Alt-Rock trio StrateJacket, consisting of Jackson Roemers (lead vocals/guitar), Fabian Angel (vocals/bass) and Nate Mangold (drums) have released new single and lyric video “Bad Start” via Edgeout Records. The single is the first song to be announced and featured on EA Sports’ NHL24 Soundtrack in tandem with NHL24’s Playlist.

The band comments:

Having a song in a video game such as NHL 24 is a dream come true. We used to joke that we’d be in a videogame and now it’s happening! It’s an incredible honor to have been noticed by the team and we are very grateful for this opportunity. Thank you, EA! Thank you, NHL!

Jackson Roemers says about the song:

‘Bad Start’ was one of the first songs we ever wrote together as a band. We didn’t know what to think of the song when we completed it. When we submitted it to everyone on our team and they really loved it, it became the template of our sound. It was a combination of loud chanty vocals mixed with these layered keyboards and guitars and a message that pretty much says, ‘I’m an idiot but I mean well.’ It was perfectly imperfect and we’ve really learned to love it over the years.
