Lacrimas Profundere May Have Produced The Saddest Melody Ever Heard For “Breathing Souls”

Dark Metal band Lacrimas Profunder are are celebrating their 30th anniversary with the release of new song, “Breathing Souls”. After band member Olly composed the instrumental version of the track, the song actually lay unused in the studio for a long time.

It seemed like no one in the band wanted to come up with the right vocals or lyrics for it. So Olly turned to his friends Chris Harms (Lord of the Lost) and Tobias Schönemann (The Vision Bleak) and asked them to take on the song with “fresh ears”. The result is a “gloomy melodic piece”.

Producer Kohle Kohlmannslehner comments:

This is probably the saddest melody I have ever heard.

Particularly attuned to a time when the Earth is facing climate change and exploitation, the song is both timely and relevant, with a chorus that chants, “Relieve the hurt/From Mother Earth.”
