Mae Simpson’s Debut Album ‘Chandelier & Bloom’ Was Three Years In The Making

Minneapolis-based singer/songwriter Mae Simpson’s debut album, Chandelier & Bloom will be arriving on September 1, 2023 and represents three years of work. Looking out from the stage towards the shimmering chandelier at the Fillmore theater inspired Simpson to write the title track. She played an acoustic set opening for Dermot Kennedy there in 2021.

She shares:

It was a moment in time I wanted to remember and I painted that one image in my mind. An ode to how far we have come as a group and the power of music. No matter the ups and downs it’s a dream, and it’s attainable.

Simpson has already released three singles off the album, “Cap Guns,” “Minnehaha Mama,” and title track single “Chandelier & Bloom”.

Simpson’s team on this album includes Producer Brian “Snowman” Powers“, guitarist Jorgen Wadkins, drummer and background vocalist Aaron Silverstein, bassist David Kellerman, percussionist Ricardo Romero, and trumpeter Paul Pederson. A range of guest vocalists and instrumentalists are also included.

Simpson has opened for acts including Dermot Kennedy, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Robert Clay, Ike Reilly, Langhorn Slim, RubbleBucket, and Pert Near Sandstone.
