Vocalist/songwriter Blake Coddington, aka Letdown. has released “Happiness Is Overrated,” the latest Alt-Rock piece from the Chicago/Nashville-based musician, along with an accompanying video. Created with Producer duo HEAVY (lovelytheband, YUNGBLUD), “Happiness Is Overrated” is a track that “details the lengths we go to in an attempt to protect ourselves from pain and self destruction.”

Coddington shares:

The song is a battle of accepting my fate, as I’ve made it to be isolated and cut off from everyone else. In my struggle to be happy, I find that getting rid of everything that can make me happy also can kill the possibility of being hurt, and asking myself why I destroy everything in my path. Maybe happiness really is overrated.

“Happiness Is Overrated” follows the release of Crying In The Shower, Letdown.’s seven-song debut album.

Letdown. started as a pandemic project for Blake Coddington, but the Chicago/Nashville-based rocker is in a very different place in 2023. Having released a number of singles and playing as a live act across several headlining shows this past year, the project is on a roll.

While Coddington initially used the moniker to channel his feelings while working a dead-end job that he hated, 2022 saw Letdown. being signed to Big Loud Rock and a big expansion in scope and sound.

Letdown. will be making the following U.S. appearances during 2023, with more to be announced:

SEPTEMBER
24 — Louisville, KY — Louder Than Life Festival

OCTOBER

05 — Sacramento, CA — Aftershock Festival
