Rotten Mind Heads In A New Direction With “Pointless Love”, A Song About Never Growing Up

Swedish Punk rock outfit Rotten Mind has returned with the new single ”Pointless Love”. This single, alongside the soon to be released track ”Visitor in the Present”, was recorded at the same time as Rotten Mind‘s latest, fifth studio album Unflavored from 2022. Besides the new single, Rotten Mind has also announce new live shows in Europe.

Jakob Arvidsson (guitar/ vocals) speaks on the new single:

‘Pointless Love’ is about never growing up. Sometimes it can actually be reassuring to think about life as something pointless. Then it‘s up to you to make what you want out of it.

We wanted to try something else with this song, a different rhythm in the guitar riffs and stuff. What I like about it is that the song almost feels like the crescendo is in the verses, which is usually the other way around.

We‘re super happy to finally release these two songs. They were recorded at the same time as the ‘Unflavored’ album but we chose to do something else with them since the record felt done with the other songs. As you‘ll probably hear, they’re quite different from what we usually do.

Sweden‘s Rotten Mind combines elements of late 70s Punk, Post-Punk, Dark Wave, and Garage Rock into their own brand of melodic and alternative Punk.
