The Infamous Stringdusters Honor Forefathers With ‘A Tribute To Flatt & Scruggs’

Bluegrass quintet the Infamous Stringdusters are revisiting the forefathers of the genre with their new album, A Tribute To Flatt & Scruggs. They previously released Grammy-nominated album A Tribute to Bill Monroe. In keeping with the modes of bluegrass pioneers, the band gathered in the studio and recorded the album together, all at once.

Stringdusters bassist Travis Book comments:

The concept of paying tribute to the Grandfathers or originators of Bluegrass is one we bounced around for a while and after Bill Monroe, the most logical, I think any bluegrass musician would agree, are Flatt & Scruggs. They’re legendary; without Earl’s banjo, bluegrass just doesn’t exist as we know it today.

The Stringdusters released the six-song collection of their favorite tunes from Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs’s catalog on their own record label, Americana Vibes. Limited color vinyl and more Flatt & Scruggs-centric merch can also be found right here

A Tribute To Flatt & Scruggs Tracklist:

1. I’d Rather Be Alone

2. Will You Be Lonesome

3. Blue Ridge Cabin Home

4. Earl’s Breakdown

5. Cabin on the Hill

6. Down the Road
