Swedish Alt. Rock outfit Bring the Hoax have release ”Lighthouse”, the second single leading up to their debut studio album Single Coil Candy. With influences from the finishing decades of the 20th century and bands such as Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, Built to Spill and Smashing Pumpkins, the Stockholm-based four-piece blends the ‘90s with their own
Hasse Karlsson shares:
We wrote ‘Lighthouse’ to never forget that even in the darkest and the most hopeless of times, there is always someone who wants to listen, help, and be there for you.
The song came about after a close friend of the band got stuck in a relationship that left the person completely controlled by codependency.
Karl Nordahl adds:
Most people can probably relate to the feeling of wanting to leave something, but don’t do it because they constantly hope it will get better again, even though they know deep down it never will.
Karlsson concludes:
We hope this song can bring comfort to those who need it and strength to others to be their own lighthouse for someone else.
Bring the Hoax‘s debut album Single Coil Candy will be released on the 12th of May, 2023 by Lövely Records. The album will be available on all streaming platforms and on pink vinyl.
