Symphonic Metal band Sirenia will be releasing new studio album, 1977, on May 26th, 2023 via Napalm Records. Experimenting with “groovy synthwave melodies” this time around, they also draw on late 70’s and 80’s Pop Rock stylings. They’ve released the album’s first single, also the album’s bonus track, “Twist in my Sobriety,” which is a cover of a song by Tanita Tikaram. It’s accompanied by a performance video.

Bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter Morten Veland states:

Twist in my Sobriety’ is the first single from our upcoming album entitled 1977. This is the bonus track of our 11th album, and it is a cover version of Tanita Tikaram’s original from 1988. I have loved this song since it was released, and it has a very melancholic vibe to it, so it felt like an interesting project to make a SIRENIA version of it. I hope that you will enjoy it while we wait for the upcoming album release.

Norwegian bandleader Morten Veland Produced Sirenia’s 11th record and HK at Vamacara Studio, France, handled the mixing. The band are currently celebrating their 20th year together.
