Colemine Records will be releasing Changing Light, the debut full-length album from Bay Area musicians The Ironsides, on May 19th, 2023. With a meld of classic Psych-Soul elements and orchestral arrangements, the album is influenced by cinematic soundtrack music and by European composers of the 60s and 70s. The single “The Web” has been released from the new album.

The Ironsides enlisted the help of Louis Robert King, a New York based maestro, as co-writer and arranger on the album. King had previously created arrangements for Producer/bassist Max Ramey on other projects. They hired a group of Bay Area working musicians from various genres to complete the album, wishing to keep a local feel.

The album was recorded at Transistor Sound Studios in the North Bay Area of California. Transistor is home base for The Ironsides, and a host of Colemine Records artists, including Kelly Finnigan and Monophonics.

Changing Light evokes the imagery of “an open road, a breathtaking view, and scenes of a vast landscape begging to be explored.”
