Cinder Well’s ‘Cadence’ Spans Californian And Irish Coasts

Cinder Well, Amelia Baker’s experimental Folk project, is going to be releasing the album Cadence on April 21, 2023 via Free Dirt Records. Influenced by the landscapes and traditions of both Coastal California and Western Ireland, the album’s name refers to the “cycles of our turbulent lives, to the uncertain tides that push us forward and back”.

The album’s first single, “Two Heads, Grey Mare” is out now inspired by Irish folklore of selkies and its video was filmed in England’s Peak District. String arrangements on the new single were put together by Cormac MacDiarmada of Lankum.

Recorded at Hen House Studios near the Venice Beach Boardwalk in Los Angeles, the songs of Cadence “search for a sense of grounding and a feeling of home”.
