Matt Charette & The Truer Sound Find ‘Lo Fi High Hopes’

Boston-based artist Matt Charette grew up listening to Bonnie Raitt and John Prine but started out playing in Punk and Hardcore bands. He later became a songwriter in the Boston music scene. Now, having played support shows for bands like Lucero, Lydia Loveless, and Everlast, he has announced his sophomore album Lo Fi High Hopes, coming on March 10, 2023 via digital, CD, and LP. The first blast, the single and video “4X4,” is out now.

While Charette has traded the distortion pedals for an acoustic guitar and a harmonica, he still espouses a DIY ethos and his band The Truer Sound alternates between Rock and Roll and the sounds of pedal steel and organ. The new album “speaks to perseverance, showing up for yourself and others, and avoiding half measures”.

Stay tuned for a US tour next Spring and a show at Cambridge, MA’s Atwood’s Tavern on the release date, March 10th, 2023.
