Canadian artist Karine Hannah has released her version of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, bringing to life the 1943-penned holiday tune. The song was originally sung by Judy Garland in the 1944 musical, Meet Me in St. Louis and has always been beloved for its vocals and Hannah aspires to support that legacy.
Karine nods to her vocal influences in legends such as Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, Jennifer Holiday, and as well as French and European artists she heard on the radio as a child.
She shares:
I grew up with 4 sides of music…French, Canadian, American, and Euro. I want to embrace all of that in my own music. I want people to feel something massive in their soul after listening to me interpret a song, whether it’s an original or a cover tune. I sing from the soul, and I hope it reaches listeners.
