Artist, pianist and vocalist, and songwriter, Kansas City’s Kelley Hunt has released six albums in over 25 years of music making. Winter Soulstice will be arriving on November 4, 2022 from 88 Records, and is her first holiday album. Her goal was to really imprint her own stamp on holiday classics.
She explains:
I’ve wanted to do a holiday album for years and have had fans ask for one for a long time. But I wanted to do it when I could conceptually do something that was really my own.
Hunt was also hoping to create something that served a specific purpose rather than just releasing another soundtrack to another holiday season.
She adds:
I see this time, right now, as a time when sending a message about the things that bind us together as opposed to divide us, inspired me to do it now. Delivering those sentiments in a holiday album, I hope, will allow them to be received at a time when maybe we all naturally return to a more compassionate, inclusive state of mind.
