Distant is a the multinational Down-Tempo/Deathcore band from Rotterdam in The Netherlands and Bratislava in Slovakia. They recently launched a new standalone single, “Human Scum” accompanied by a video directed by the band’s own vocalist, Alan Grnja and produced by Tomas Ferenc & Lukas Ferenc of VLN Production.

Distant comments on the track and its place in the band’s larger mythology:

‘Human Scum’ is a deathtrap of a track, with a hooky chorus and an impeccable atmospheric soundscape. The tracks adds on to the never ending evolution to Distant songwriting capabilities and the sound of hellscape.

After Tyrannt’s crucible with his father – Tsukuyomi – he suffered a great defeat. Stranded in this new world in his mortal body, he’s found by his silent worshippers of the Covenant, who work to help Tyrannt’s rebirth into full power again – and, raising his army against the forces of Tsukuyomi to get the ultimate revenge.

Since their inception in 2014 and the release of their inaugural EP, Tsukuyomi, Distant has created two studio albums, Tyrannotophia (2019) and Aeons of Oblivion (2021), as well as two EPs, Dawn of Corruption (2020) and Dusk of Anguish (2021).

Additionally, Distant has been creating their own universe and adding the fictional novel The Rise of Tyrannotophia into the mix, which accompanies Aeons of Oblivion. Now, they return in 2022 with a new label partner (Century Media Records), plus two standalone singles: “Exofilth” and “Human Scum”.
