Nashville-based singer / songwriter Ariel Bui has released the music video for “Real & Fantasy”, the second from her forthcoming album of the same name. The music of Ariel Bui pulls from her wide ranging musical background as a performer and music educator, blending elements of Indie Rock, Indie Pop, Country, Soul, Surf, and Psych Rock.
This new album, Real & Fantasy, reunites Ariel with Grammy-nominated producer Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Hurray for the Riff Raff), with the entire new LP recorded at his Nashville studio, The Bomb Shelter. The album arrives this Friday, October 14th, 2022.
The video was recorded in Tokic’s Bomb Shelter Studio, featuring a team of Nashville musicians who helped bring this record to life, including Jo Schornikow (Phosphorescent) on Piano & Keys, Megan Coleman (Jenny Lewis, Yola) on drums, Jack Lawrence (Jack White, The Dead Weather) on bass, and Ellen Angelico (She’s A Rebel) on guitar.
On the day of the album’s release this Friday October 14th, there will be an album release show held at the East Room in Nashville. Bui will be joined on stage by many of the very same session musician and the bill for the night features Jo Schornikow, Jessica Breanne & Jack Silverman. Tickets for that even are available here.
Describing her inspiration for the lyric and why she ended up choosing this as the album’s title, Bui says that she “loved the phrase Real & Fantasy for the title of the album, because unlike the more commonly used phrase ‘real or fantasy’ it kind of highlighted for me that life is a combination of reality AND our dreams.”
