Irish band The Coronas are finally heading out on the world tour that was sidelined by the pandemic, and they also had to deal with the frustration of sharing a name with the virus that shut down the world. They are, however, also returning with a new album aptly titled Time Stopped. Set for release on October 7th, 2022, on the band’s imprint SoFarSoGood Records, the new album reflects the times and conveys an “underlying message of hope”. The band’s 7th album is “grounded in optimism”.
Lead singer Danny O’Reilly explains:
When everything is suddenly upside down, relationships and our place in the world are given a new perspective. Even though it came together in an uncertain time, Time Stopped is a positive album about togetherness and support.
This week, The Coronas embark on their postponed UK shows, followed in October by a host of shows in Europe. Their twice postponed U.S. and Canada shows begin November 2nd in Toronto followed by shows in Australia. The Coronas will once again close out their year with holiday shows at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre, a custom that in 2020 was relegated to a streaming event in order to maintain the tradition.

O’Reilly adds:
TIME STOPPED was written to be played live. We’re ridiculously excited to be on the road again and to play these new songs to full capacity rooms around the world. It’s going to be emotional.
The new album was recorded largely at Eastcote Studios in London, where the band has recorded previously, with Producer George Murphy (The Specials, Ellie Goulding, Mumford and Sons) and mixed with Grammy-winning mixer Peter Katis.
