Melanie Penn’s “Follow You” Speaks To Humanity’s Wilderness Journey

New York-based singer, songwriter and Christian worship leader, Melanie Penn new single and music video for “Follow You” which aims for universal themes of finding a light in the wilderness. The single is part of a second collection of her solo work titled More Alive Vol. II. Making the video for the new single led she and the filmmaker on an adventure.

Penn explains:

“We thought Iceland would be the perfect place to tell a story about wandering through the wilderness. This is a time when so many people are trying to figure out what to do next and wondering where life is leading them. Hopefully “Follow You” provides some reassurance that there is Someone leading the way.

Aaron (the filmmaker for “Follow You”) and I talked about this concept for a long time. We knew we wanted some kind of filmic journey or wandering through the wilderness but we weren’t sure of the right location. During one conversation Aaron suggested, ‘Hey why don’t we go to Iceland?’ It turned out to be perfect – the landscapes in Iceland change every 2 miles! So we got to capture the idea of traveling through different desolate locations. It was the perfect metaphor for Follow You.’”
