Nile Marr has released new single “How We Drift” via Park the Van, alongside an animated video accompanied by an animated video “depicting a race car driver traversing a virtual landscape”. If you are unfamiliar with his work, Marr is the son of former Smiths guitarist and current solo artist Johnny Marr and his wife Angela and was named for one of his father’s musical heroes, Chic’s Nile Rodgers.

Marr started out as a solo artist, then as a duo with American singer-songwriter Meredith Sheldon, and then in the trio Man Made. Marr then released a debut solo album in 2020, titled Are You Happy Now? He then also released an EP, Still Hearts, in April 2020.

Marr’s latest musical offeringHow We Drift was recorded during lockdown in his home studio.

He explains:

“It felt like the perfect way to announce the new music and cue up a second solo album. After being unable to play live for so long, “How We Drift” captures the new energy and tone I wanted moving forward. It’s already proving an energetic favorite at gigs since reopening.”
