Detroit-based Grunge-Pop singer/songwriter Zilched (Chloë Drallos) has released a new single and video for A Valentine as the first half of a special two song release, acting as the A-side to her take on the Stevie Nicks classic “Stand Back.” Zilched is also currently on tour with Heaven Honey, playing upcoming dates.

Drallos comments on the lyrics for “A Valentine”, saying that it is “about realizing you don’t need to conform to anyone’s expectations of you, romantically or otherwise”. She paired it with “Stand Back” because she feels that the two song are “linked by a shared sense of resilience”, adding: “I think both songs share the same, secure, conviction; choosing to stick your own guns against adversity”. The new video was shot among friends in one night in an abandoned church, and co-directed by Drallos.

Zilched released a debut EP Pulling Teeth, in 2018 and followed this with “Sleeper”, “The Morning”, and “Blue Doom” in 2019. Alongside Drallos, collaborator Nick Russo provides percussion for Zilched.
