Brooklyn based Alt-Rock band, Myra Lee, formerly known as Dino Expedition, was created as a stage name inspired by the 1996 Cat Power record of the same name.
Comprised of lead singer and guitarist Tahlia Amanson, Aiden Velazquez on bass, and McCabe Teems on drums, the trio’s sound is inspired by 90’s Indie groups like Yo La Tengo, Pavement, Electrelane and Sonic Youth, while leaning into an ethereal sound.
Myra Lee have announced their album Capture The Flag, the first record under the band’s new pseudonym, due for release June 26th, 2026. Recorded over two days in a basement studio in the Lower East Side, the band live tracked six songs with engineer Jeremy Harris (Devendra Banhart, Hand Habits, Allegra Krieger).
The sessions were ultimately mixed and mastered by producer Calvin Lauber (Boygenius, Julien Baker) in Memphis. The result is a multi-instrumental collection that “grapples with themes of alcoholism, sexuality, and grief.”

Alongside the album announcement, the group has shared lead single,“Magpie.”
Amanson shares:
I can only remember one time when I met my aunt Maggie. Out of fear from my father’s past, he kept my sisters and I separated from his family. While I use Magpie as a symbol for the misfortune of my family’s relationship, I also see it describing my mother’s tendencies.
