Singer-songwriter Jessie Wilson has recently released her album, Rebel & Reverie. She released her debut EP, How ‘Bout We Find Out, in 2023, produced by David Dorn (Braxton Keith, Gabe Lee). Bridging Americana and Country sounds, Wilson finds an independent lane for her music.
She says about her sound:
I’ve always felt like I struggled to fit into a box as a person and as an artist. I’ve felt, at times, a little too country for Americana and too Americana for mainstream country. The best thing about being an independent artist is the autonomy I have to do whatever I want. That freedom feels scary at times, but ultimately it has really given me the confidence to find my voice and feel comfortable enough to express the two different sides of me within one singular project.
Regarding the album, she explains:
This project shows both sides of me: part fire, part daydream. Rebel & Reverie really feels like two sides of me. The first three songs lean into that rebel energy. The last three live in the reverie side, which feels more like a dream I don’t want to wake up from; it’s softer, more reflective, nostalgic, and a little haunted in a good way.
